GREAT GARDEN C 2008

“The Color of Serenity”

By Complete Landscaping Systems

Enter this garden through the iron gate, onto a beckoning pathway that takes
you into a calming sanctuary of GREEN, says Peter Salmeron, Complete
Landscaping Systems. The path meanders through a garden of many cooling
shades of green as towering blue-green Atlas Blue Cedar and powerful deep
green Austrian pine stand guard over a small wondering stream that seems to
lead the way deeper into the garden. The green is interrupted briefly by
splashes of dainty pink and sassy red as blooms on branches of nearby
Crabapple trees sway gently in an early spring breeze. For the first time
you notice, the festival of spring colors as sun-kissed yellow and
cotton-candy pink tulips and grape-purple hyacinths seem to dance around
mighty brown boulders, that are scattered here and there along the path. You hear the quiet roar of the water billowing over the boulders as you reach the
neighborly bridge. The sounds of water turning a water wheel strikes a
rhythm that seems to clear your mind. The flowing water touches your
soul as all sounds of the outside world are blocked out. You sit awhile on
the cozy bench and release all anxiety of a hectic day with few rewards and
several crises. The splashing of a fish in the pond and the sound of the
wind in the nearby Redbud trees brings a lazy smile to your lips. The
whole garden seems to be saying, "You need to be quiet and to rest." The
beauty of it all surrounds you and fills your soul with a song of peace and
serenity. There is a promise in the air that the harsh winter is behind you
and the greenness of spring brings with it dreams of new beginnings, as well
as feelings of anticipation and hope. The garden is a special place, a
place of peace, healing, contentment and serenity.

“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.” – John Muir
