BY Stone Creek Nursery LLC
This garden tells a story of a factory that was abandoned years before > anyone knew about air and water pollution or realized how bad > environmental practices could damage the world.
However, now that old factory has been turned into an educational interactive garden that is a plant that produces plants. Have fun with us and be a factory worker, says Andy Rizza, Stone Creek Nursery, as you watch the workings of this marvel. Show goers get to participate and work in the factory by pushing buttons to help the seed become a plant and grow. A seed is planted; it moves on to the first of three stations where a factory worker pushes a button to water the pot to help it germinate. Next the conveyor belt carries the plant onto the station where a button is pushed to give the plant sunlight to aid in growth. Finally, at the third station, color is added to the flower. cracks. You smile as you decide this gives new meaning to "roof top gardening". This is reclamation at its best. For the first time you notice that the yard surrounding the factory is bursting with spring - snow-white blossoms on Capital Pear Trees, hot pink blooms on Crabapples, and luscious lavender Redbuds - all creating a celebration atmosphere. A kaleidoscope of color pours out over the yard with tree form Knock-out delicate pink roses, hot-shot red and bubble-gum pink carpet roses, dainty purple Persian lilacs, fire-engine red and passionate pink begonias. The factory grounds are a paradise of rich, dark pine trees, Leyland Cypress and Golden Privet. The whole scene over-flows with SPRING. Everything around you speaks of renewal, rejuvenation, new beginnings, new life and a story with a happy ending. >
