Gardening must be taught!
(whether vegetables, flowers, shrubs, trees, or sod)

Each generation must learn from someone or some organization how to garden and why gardening is a gift that truly enhances quality of life.

Breathtaking beauty in your life, and

IT'S NO WONDER THAT GARDENING IS THE
#1
PASTIME IN AMERICA.

Wichita has a viable horticulture industry which includes nurseries, irrigation companies, landscapers, deck builders, equipment, stone
masons, yard accessory companies, lightig companies, landscape maintenance firms, and the list goes on and on…

The scope of products, services, and information available about how
to garden and how to create a wonderful outdoor living area is unbelievable.

The Wichita Community is recognized as having a large segment of
the population that are avid gardeners. We believe it is due to four
strong horticulture resources:
Botanica,The Wichita Gardens; Sedgwick County Extension Master Gardener Program; The John C. Pair
Horticulture Research Center; and The Wichita Garden Show (WGS).

2008 will mark the 41st Annual Wichita Garden Show. It is a unique blend
of incredible beauty of the gardens and education about
gardening supplied by horticulture experts, businesses, and exhibits.

The WGS Educational Foundation, Inc. was formed to assume responsibility
for educational programs which provide gardening information for the novice through the accomplished gardener at future Wichita Garden Shows.

Exciting Future! The WGS Educational Foundation will enlarge, enhance and implement educational events and programs, for children, adults, and seniors,
at the show. These will include: nationally known gardening and horticulture speakers; hourly gardening seminars; expansion of educational value in Great
and Mid-Gardens; 4-H Horticulture Contest and Photography Competition;
backyard Wildlife Conservation Program, for school children; and, greater educational opportunities in the Education Area.

If you understand the value of gardening… we invite you to share
in funding the organization.The Foundation is a 501 (c)3,
a public charity. It can receive tax-deductible contributions
from individuals and businesses who believe that the need to
educate the public about the wonders of gardening and horticulture
is important.
