Where We Are:
The Wichita Garden Show Association Office is located at 5830 West Central, Wichita,
Kansas, 67212. The Show Office is located near Towne West Shopping Center. Approaching from west Kellogg, make a hard left on Kellogg Drive, follow to Anna
Street. Turn right, second building on west side of the road.
The Purpose of the Wichita Garden Show Association shall be to promote all components of the yard/garden, landscaping and outdoor living industry through its independent dealers with the production of a garden show.
WGSA contributes to community and educational projects, i.e. landscaping courtyard gardens at Wichita Children's Home and Great Plains Nature Center, in addition to sponsoring horticulture scholarships at Kansas State University.
The WGS Educational Foundation is a support organization that has assumed responsibility for educational events and programs of the Wichita Garden Show. Programs under the Foundation include seminars, gardening speakers, education
area, youth programs and adult programs which provide information for the novice through the accomplished gardener about the benefits and techniques of gardening.

The Wichita Garden Show shall be a great regional and community event which
features a unique blend of education, beauty, special features, product information and entertainment.
Wichita Garden Show. Education of the public shall be accomplished through the
beauty and ideas illustrated in the gardens, formal seminars, educational displays
and education about latest garden/yard products. The educational aspect of the
Wichita Garden Show is unlimited and should never be diminished.
The character of the Wichita Garden Show is derived by its many diverse features,
all related to the garden/yard, horticulture industry. Recognizing the importance of
one does not diminish the importance of others. All are vital to the whole Show in
order to create a unique experience for the attendee. All are necessary to maintain a strong regional and community event which meets the public's expectations.

standard of excellence set historically by the Show is to be maintained, it is imperative that the gardens be given priority and continuously strengthened.
GOAL I: Increase community and civic leader awareness that the Wichita Garden
Show, through its promotion of the horticulture industry: (A) Provides significant
economic impact to the community; (B) Increases awareness of the need for and encourages beautification in the community; and, (C) Enhances the quality of life in
the community.
GOAL II: Enlist the resources of local, state, regional and national agencies, organizations and businesses to ensure the growth of the Show.
GOAL III: The Association shall strive to maintain and improve the level of
excellence achieved in previous Wichita Garden Shows by the display gardens, educational exhibits, programs, commercial exhibits and entertainment by:
(A) Taking definite steps to assure continuation of high quality garden displays
by striving to pay a more-equitable share of the total cost of the display gardens;
(B) Striving to broaden member representation of independently owned yard and
garden product and service companies; and, (C) Working closely with organizations which share a common or similar mission.
GOAL IV: In order to be fiscally sound the Wichita Garden Show shall strive to reach an adult gate attendance of 40,000 (61,000 total gate)* by 2010 by: (A) Providing well-known personalities for seminars, programs and entertainment; (B) Offering learning opportunities to all ages, youth and adults, to enhance their understanding of horticulture and environment, as well as educating the consumer to make intelligent buying decisions; (C) Broadening the marketing campaign to attract people from over 100 miles away; (D) Implementing strategy which recognizes that each generation must be exposed to the benefits and techniques of gardening and outdoor living; and, (E) Developing diverse complimentary projects and events to attract a broader spectrum of the community and region.
GOAL V: The Association will find an additional source of income, either a non-related or a related event, to insure financial stability.
GOAL VI: The Show will contribute to community and/or educational projects (when excess funds are available) that enhances horticulture or the yard/garden industry.
GOAL VII: The Show will examine the venue that houses the Show for its appropriateness, size, rental rates, etc. and seek alternative venues if necessary.
Following the annual meeting, the Mission Statement shall be reviewed by the Board each year. *Based on 5-year average of adult gate is 66% of total.
